Violinist Amber Dolphin is formally trained in classical music, (including degrees from Luther College and UW-Madison, as well as a Performer’s Certificate from NIU in DeKalb). She is also active in multiple international genres including jazz, pop, traditional fiddle, gypsy, and various Latin styles. She currently performs with Quinteto Yzafa (traditional Argentine tango), Charanga Agozá (Cuban dance music), several regional orchestras and the Pecatonica String Quartet, which she helped found. Amber has been teaching violin and viola since 1998 and has held adjunct positions at UW-Platteville and Beloit College. She has participated in master classes with Regina Carter, Randy Brecker, Simon Shaheen, and Midori.
