I knew I'd always rather be in the band than in the audience, so I set my sights on being able to play everything I could! Over the years I've improved to the point where I've been fortunate to perform with the Madison Symphony, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, gypsy swing band Harmonious Wail, lots of great jazz singers especially Michelle DuVall, many bands playing country, bluegrass, jazz, rock, celtic, contradance, Middle-eastern (Salaam-Shalom), Argentine tango (Quinteto Yzafa).
I continue to study and practice new things - currently the arabic oud and middle-eastern tonalities and flamenco guitar techniques are occupying my practice time. All of these influences and experiences inform my composition and songwriting as well as my teaching.
